Anteckningar från expeditionen 1908-1909 This volume contains handwritten notes by Erland Nordenskiöld from the expedition to South America in 1908-1909. It was compiled in 1943 at the Museum of Ethnography, Göteborg (Gothenburg).
In dialogue with the society in which it exists, the Museum of World Culture seeks to serve as a meeting place where sensitive, intellectual experiences will enable people to feel comfortable at home and abroad, trusting in and taking responsibility for a shared global future in a constantly changing world.
The Museum of World Culture will be a cultural and scientific institution whose subject is human beings and human creations in the broadest meaning, including all forms of expression in all eras and locations.
The museum operations will be interdisciplinary, crossing subject boundaries in a close collaboration with ongoing university research. Indeed, this is one of the reasons for the chosen physical location between the University and the Universeum.
The new museum will also work with schools, libraries, immigrant organisations, adult educational associations and other cultural institutions. New technology and new operational concepts will be utilised within the vision of joining the other museums in the National Museums of World Culture in contributing to the further development of the museum role in serving society.
